In recent years the increase in earth conservation efforts have been exponential. I find this a fascinating topic on how scientists and people today our helping for a better environment. I believe that conservation efforts now will better help our future environment. Along with new technology it’s evident that there are many solutions for having a more sustainable future. James Watson, a senior author at the University of Queensland, states, “given the growing human influence on the planet, time and space are running out for biodiversity, and we need to prioritize actions against these intense human pressures.” This statement made about the human footprint gives a better understanding of how dire the situation is. I feel that it is important to help the environment but many people, including myself, don’t always know how to help this cause. I think earth conservation should be taught in schools in science classes to potentially inspire others to read more into ways to help. Scientists can find solutions and implementations society can use daily but overall scientists can only do so much. It is up to the common person to want to help and join a movement to push for a better environment for the future. I also think that official leaders have a big supporting role in carrying out information on these topics on a wide scale. Leaders also eventually have the power to implement solutions into states, countries, and the world. Overall the conservation movement is a popular and ongoing debate in today’s world.
