The picture of the koala with a firehose represents the current wildfires going on in Australia. This is an important current event because many koalas are affected by this event and as of a few weeks ago the koala population has decreased by 30 percent. I think bigger meaning behind the picture is that we should help the koalas fight for their home as much as koalas want their homes back. This event is devastating not only for koalas but for human lives as well since many homes have burned and the carbon dioxide in the air is increasing which makes it hard to breath. The depiction gives us a call for action that not only Australians should help but the whole world should get involved. On the other hand, this extreme weather condition can pave the way for improvement and how we can do better as a society so that this doesn’t happen again. Keeping ecosystems alive should be a priority since they take years and years to rebuild. This gives humans the ultimate task of doing better to implement environmentally friendly decisions in our daily lives because change happens one step at a time.
