Living on Mars (Tedtalk)

The Ted Talk that I watched was on how we will get to mars and how we will survive. The journalist, Stephen Petranek, has written a book and multiple speeches about living on Mars and is very optimistic for the future. We need more knowledge on the topic of moving to mars since the younger generation will have the choice to live on Mars. Petranek believes that we will be at Mars by 2027 from the help of Elon Musk. Elon Musk, along with Tesla, is the owner of spacex and believes that mars exploration will happen by private companies and not a government led organization like NASA. After we get to mars there are many issues facing how a colony would live: food, water, shelter, clothing, and oxygen. Petranek explains that we know many of these answers already but will still be hard to put into place. I think that Mars exploration is important knowing the population and climate issues we will face in the future are growing just as fast.
